Burgundy Pasture Beef

Who: Jon & Wendy Taggart of Burgundy Pasture Beef

Jon and Wendy began their journey into sustainable ranching on what is now Burgundy Paster Beef in 1999. At the time, there wasn’t much information out there about how our meat came into grocery stores and what effect it could have on our diets.

At Burgundy, they believe that “when animals are fed the food they are designed to eat, their products are ideally suited for our needs as well.”

What: Delicious, Local, Grass Fed Products

Burgundy’s goes beyond beef (we’re not talking the fake stuff!) offering pork, chicken, mixed meat packages, eggs, cheeses and seasonings. For those wanting to know exactly where their food comes from and how it was raised, this is the place for you.

We have followed a management style that is really just based on what Mother Nature gives us. And how we use the tools she gives us.

Why: The More You Know… Also, Ranch Tour!

Besides the fact they make killer products, each Fall and Spring Burgundy Pasture Beef invites patrons and newcomers alike to sign up for an intimate tour of their ranch.

Jon told us, “We like to tell our story that we have pitfalls with weather and predators and insects… a whole litany of challenges we face, but then how we’ve adapted our management program to address those challenges.”

In fact, Burgundy’s is the first ranch in Texas certified by the Audubon Conservation Ranching Society, so you know it’s legit!

How: Shop in Store & Subscribe to the Newsletter

Instead of selling into grocery chains, Jon and Wendy decided to open up their own direct to consumer shops in Grandview, Dallas and Fort Worth. They also offer free shipping on orders over $150.
